Cartagena's historic walled old town is a UNESCO World Heritage site located on the northeast side of the harbor.
It is one of the heavily policed tourist areas in the city where life tries to be almost Disneyesque.
Unlike many of the other parts of town in Cartagena, the streets in Old Town are kept immaculate and
vendors are closely supervised and generally very low key.
Because of this, Old Town has become a very disireable, expensive, neighborhood favored by politicians, celebrities, and the rich.
